Research Goal:
tidentification and characterization of two forms of the
Disabled-1 (Dab1) gene: Dab1-early expressed in retinal
progenitor cells and Dab1-late expressed in two classes of
neuronal cells (amacrine and ganglion) in the developing retina.
Techniques: RNA extraction, RT-PCR, western
blot analysis, protein-RNA immunoprecipitation, transfection of
primary retinal cultures, site-directed mutagenesis, confocal
microscopy, immunostaining of retinal tissue sections, in situ
hybridization of retinal tissue sections.
